PADI Specialty Courses are short, focused diving courses that help certified divers improve specific skills and enjoy new types of diving. Instead of learning general diving only, you can choose a specialty based on your interests, such as Deep Diver, Night Diver, Enriched Air Nitrox, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Wreck Diver, Drift Diver, Underwater Navigator, Search & Recovery, Digital Underwater Photography, and more. PADI notes that many specialty courses can start online, with in-water training completed with a Ohana divers or Instructor when applicable.

They are a great way to become a safer, more confident, and more experienced diver while exploring new underwater adventures. Some courses include only theory, but many include real training dives, depending on the specialty.

This course is not only dry/theory — it includes 4 training dives with a PADI Instructor, where you learn how to plan deep dives, manage your air, control your buoyancy at depth, make safe descents and ascents, and understand the effects of deep diving such as color changes and narcosis. After this course, you can gain the skills and confidence to dive deeper, up to 40 meters / 130 feet, within recreational diving limits
